Return to Work Covid-19 Risk Assessments for Offices
Returning to work is hard after a prolonged length of time, even after a two week holiday! So returning after Covid-19 will be like something we have never experienced before. Amongst the excitement of communicating with people using traditional methods and catching up with colleagues we still need to be very careful on how work is planned and managed.
For those who control or manage workplaces you maybe planning to return in some capacity in the next few weeks. Part of this planning has to include a clear documented risk assessment on the control measures required for Covid 19.
Some of the areas that need to be considered include:
- Ill health in the office
- Close working at desks
- Hot desking
- Eating and drinking arrangements
- Welfare and rest spaces
- Communal areas and shared work spaces
- Travel to and from work
- Access and egress points
- Use of lifts
- Use of printer
- Visitors and contractors
Using a plan of the office can also help in marking out distance indicators and one way systems as well as areas where usage may need to be one at a time such as small kitchens or photocopier areas.
Please do not hesitate to get in contact for further advice and support on the next steps for your organisation.
We are providing these risk assessments for many clients at the moment based on an initial phone consultation and review of plans to discuss suitable controls.
